COLITIS ULCERATIVA CRÓNICA IDIOPÁTICA: REPORTE DE UN CASO

Abstract
Objective: In Panama there is no record of inflammatory bowwl disease, for this reason the purpose of this article is give relevance to the subjective opinión of our specialists that there is an increase of this disease in our population.
Clinical features: This case is about a 39 year old female without known pathological history who was admitted due to mucosanguineous diarrhoea, intermittent rectorrhage of approximately 19 years of evolution, associated with weight los, hypogastric colic pain and anorexia in the last 6 months.
Intervention and results: Among the laboratories carried out, the positive perinuclear anti-neutrophil antibody "PANCA" stands out, likewise the colonoscopy performed showed abnormalities suggestive of chronic ulcer colitis. The management was based on the combination of aminosalicylates, corticosteroids and immunomodulators, achieving the resolution of their symptomatology on the seventh day in-hospital.
Conclusion: Due to the acquisition of behavior patterns imported from developed countries, it is to be expected in our country that these diseases that are considered uncommon are reflected, so that adequate knowledge is necessary for the diagnosis and timely management, preventing patients suffer from cumbersome symptoms for more than a decade, as happened in this case.
